His captive girlfriend
Chapter 3:
Avani POV:
I didnāt sleep again.
I havenāt slept properly since the night he stole my soul in that dark room.
At 7:30 a.m. I was already dressed in the baggiest hoodie I could find, sleeves pulled over my hands like armor, hair hanging in my face like a curtain I could hide behind.
Every step toward the lecture hall felt like walking to my own execution.
My thighs still ached from where heād torn into me. The bruises on my hips looked like fingerprints from hell.
I kept my eyes on the ground because every stare felt like a blade slicing me open again.
8:52 a.m.
I reached the auditorium door.
My hand shook so badly on the handle I had to use both just to push it open.
The second I stepped inside, my heart stopped beating.
He was already there.
Front row. Dead center.
Legs spread wide like a king on his throne, arms stretched along the back of the seats, owning the entire hall without saying a word.
Black hoodie. Silver rings catching the light.
Eyes locked on the door.
Waiting for me.
I froze in the doorway like a deer staring at a lion.
I couldnāt breathe. Couldnāt move.
All I could hear was my own pulse screaming in my ears.
Then a hand closed gently around my wrist from behind.
āNot there,ā a low voice said. āCome with me.ā
I knew that voice.
Rohan Malhotra.
Aryanās best friend since first year.
Tall, quiet, always watching everything with those sharp brown eyes that seemed to see too much.
The only one who had dragged Aryan off me that night.
The only one who had looked at me like I was still human.
He didnāt wait for permission.
He just pulled me to the very back row, far left cornerāthe only spot Aryan couldnāt see without turning completely around.
He moved like heād planned this. Like heād been waiting for me.
āSit,ā he ordered softly.
My legs gave out. I collapsed into the seat, shaking so hard the chair creaked.
Rohan sat beside me, body angled like a shield between me and the rest of the world.
He dropped his bag on the chair to his rightāno one else could sit close.
He was building a wall with his own body.
I stared at my trembling hands, nails bitten down to blood.
āWhy are you helping me?ā I whispered. My voice sounded like broken glass.
He was quiet for a long second.
Long enough that I thought he wouldnāt answer.
Then:
āBecause what he did was fucked up,ā he said, voice rough, low, dangerous. āAnd because someone has to stop him before he destroys you completely.ā
I risked a glance forward.
Aryan had turned in his seat.
His eyes were scanning the hall like a predator whoād lost his prey.
When he didnāt find me, his jaw clenched so hard I saw the muscle jump from fifty feet away.
His fingers curled into fists on the desk.
Rohan leaned closer, his shoulder brushing mine, voice barely above a whisper.
āListen carefully, Avani. From today, you donāt walk alone. Not to class. Not to the cafeteria. Not to your dorm. Not even to the bathroom if I can help it. Iāll be there. Always. If he corners youāif he even looks at you wrongāyou text me one word: red. Iāll come. No matter where I am. No matter what Iām doing.ā
I swallowed, throat dry as sand.
āHeās your best friend.ā.
Rohanās eyes darkened. Real anger flashed thereācold, sharp, lethal.
āNot after that night,ā he said. āIāve watched him break girls before. Use them. Throw them away. But never like that. Never when they screamed no. Never when they bled and begged and he just⦠laughed.ā
His voice cracked on the last word.
Just once. But it was enough to make my chest ache in a different way.
The professor walked in.
The hall quieted.
Aryan finally turned back to the front, but his whole body was coiled tightālike a snake waiting to strike.
His knuckles were white on the desk.
Rohan moved under the table.
A small black phone slid into my handābrand new, cheap burner, only one contact saved.
Rohan:
My number is the only one in there. Keep it on you always. Silent mode. Hidden.
Youāre not alone anymore.
I stared at the screen until tears blurred the words.
For the first time since the party, I breathed.
A real breath.
Not the shallow, panicked gasps Iād been surviving on.
But when the lecture ended and chairs started scraping, my heart slammed back into terror.
Aryan stood up slowly.
Turned.
His eyes found me instantlyālike heād known exactly where I was hiding the entire time.
He smiled.
Cold. Predatory. Promising pain.
Rohan stood first, planting himself in front of me like a wall of muscle and fury.
āClass is over,ā Rohan said, loud enough for half the hall to hear. āSheās with me.ā
Aryanās smile didnāt waver.
āFor now,ā he said, voice smooth as poison.
Then he walked out.
The hall erupted into whispers the second he was gone.
Rohan turned to me, expression hard, eyes burning.
āFrom this second, you belong to my protection. He touches you again, he goes through me first. And Avani?ā
I looked up at him, tears finally spilling over.
āI will burn this entire college down before I let him near you again.ā
I nodded, throat too tight to speak.
I didnāt know if Rohan could really stop Aryan.
I didnāt know if anyone could.
But for the first time in days, I felt something stronger than terror.
Hope.
And maybe⦠ju
st maybeā¦
The start of a war I never asked for.
But one I might finally be ready to fight.
The day after Rohan promised to protect me, I needed one thing that still felt like mine.
My love novels.
The ones with soft heroes who ask before they touch.
The ones that end with āI love youā and forever.
I told Rohan I was going to the library for an hour.
He looked worried but nodded.
āMain path. Text me when youāre inside.ā
I promised.
The campus was busyāstudents rushing between classes, laughing, normal.
I was halfway to the main library entrance when a girl from my batch stopped me.
Short bob. Nervous eyes. Hands twisting her bag strap.
āAvani⦠I was in the canteen yesterday. I overheard Aryan tell one of his guys heād be waiting for you on the main path to the library.ā
My stomach dropped.
She glanced around like someone might be watching.
āTake my adviceāuse the back gate. Itās quieter. No one goes there.ā
Iām still new. Iāve only ever used the front entrance.
The thought of walking straight into Aryan made my skin crawl.
āOkay,ā I whispered. āCan you show me?ā
She nodded fast and started walking.
We cut across a side path behind the old science building, past overgrown bushes and cracked pavement.
The noise of campus faded.
Too fast.
We reached a rusted iron gate half-hidden in ivy.
It creaked open with a horror-movie groan.
Beyond it was a long, narrow hallwayāstone walls, flickering fluorescent lights, thick dust floating in the air.
No voices. No footsteps.
Just silence that pressed against my ears.
āWhy is it so⦠empty?ā I asked, voice shaking.
āI have to take a call,ā she said quickly, holding the gate open. āThe door at the end goes straight to the old stacks. Youāll be fine.ā
She stepped through first.
I followed.
Click.
The gate slammed shut behind us.
She let go immediately, backed away, eyes on the floor.
āIām sorry,ā she whispered. āHe said heād ruin my family if I didnātā¦ā
The door at the far end opened.
Aryan stepped out.
Black hoodie. Hands in pockets.
That calm, terrifying smile.
The girl ran past him and vanished.
I was trapped in a forgotten hallway with the monster who owned me.
My heart slams against my ribs so hard I feel sick.
I back up, hit the dusty table, look around franticallyāthis is an old storage room, forgotten part of the library, shelves full of mouldy books, no windows, one door.
He walks forward slowly, eyes locked on mine, that calm smile that makes my blood freeze.
I start crying before he even touches me.
I runādart left, right, trying to circle the room, looking for any gap, any way out.
He catches me in seconds.
One arm snakes around my waist, yanks me back against his chest.
The other hand grabs both my wrists, pins them above my head against a tall shelf.
Books dig into my back.
āRohanās been trying to play hero,ā he says softly, breath hot against my ear. āThinking he can keep you safe from me.ā
Iām sobbing now, chest heaving, tears streaming.
āShout his name,ā he whispers. āGo ahead. No oneās coming.ā
āHELP!ā I scream anyway, voice cracking. āROHAN! SOMEBODY PLEASE!ā
He laughsālow, dark, amused.
He spins me around, slams my front against the cold wall.
I feel his body press against my back, hard and unyielding.
His hands slide under my oversized hoodieāslow, deliberate.
First, they skim up my sides, thumbs brushing the skin just above my jeans.
I jerk, try to twist away.
āPlease stop,ā I sob. āHelp⦠somebody help meā¦ā
āNo one can save you, babygirl,ā he murmurs against my neck.
His palms move higher, under my hoodie, over my ribs, until they cup my breasts.
Rough fingers squeeze, not gentle, claiming.
My body shakes with sobs, terror flooding every cell.
I feel small, helpless, like prey thatās already caught.
His thumbs circle my nipples through the thin bra, pinching just hard enough to make me gasp in fear.
I hate how my body reactsānipples hardening from the cold air and the rough touch, even while my mind screams no.
Tears pour down my face.
Iām trapped between the wall and him, nowhere to go.
One hand leaves my breast, trails down my stomach, fingers hooking into the waistband of my jeans.
He unbuttons them with one flick.
The zipper rasps down.
His hand slides inside, over my panties, cupping me possessively. one thick finger pressing between my folds, finding me shamefully wet from fear and adrenaline.
I scream again.
āROHAN!ā
His grip on my neck tightens, fingers digging in, anger flashing hot.
āWrong name,ā he growls.
Thatās when I see itāthe door isnāt locked.
Just closed.
If I can make him lose controlā¦
I turn my head, crash my lips against his.
Desperate. Hard. All teeth and tongue and fake want.
He freezes for a split secondāshocked.
Then he groans deep in his throat and kisses me back like heās starving, hand loosening on my neck, body pressing closer, lost in it.
I keep kissing, walking him backward, step by step.
His hands roam everywhere nowāgripping my hips, sliding back under the hoodie.
Heās completely gone.
One final step.
I shove him with everything I have.
He stumbles, crashes into a stack of boxes, falls hard.
I run.
Yank the door open, sprint down the hallway, burst through the gate into fresh air.
I donāt stop until Iām in the crowded quad, lungs burning, tears blinding.
I escaped.
But I can still feel his hands under my hoodie.
Still taste him on my lips.
And I knowā¦
Heās coming.
Aryanās POV
She kissed me.
Fuck.
Iām on the floor, chest heaving, lips tingling.
She kissed me.
To escape.
And it was the hottest thing Iāve ever felt.
I smile slow in the dark.
Run, babygirl.
That kiss just made me hungrier.
Youāre mine.
And Iām coming for you.
